Dear Fellow Cobbly Nob Residents,
If you have been in the community in the last year, you have noticed the numerous sections of Butler Branch Road that are in need of resurfacing. An enormous work effort was undertaken to replace 7 or 8 culverts that run under the road as well as an effort to stabilize the road at the intersection of Butler Branch Road and Duck Hollow, the Hollywood Hills section of the community. It was collapsing into the creek. The culverts were galvanized steel that through aging had deteriorated causing the road to sink and nearly collapse if not addressed. All of those culvert replacements have been completed with the exception of the one at the entrance to Butler Branch. It turned into a much more complex effort due to its length and the fact that Webb Creek Utilities has both its main water line for the community and a sewer line in the same location. Webb Creek concerns with the water line and sewer line resulted in some rework of the culvert which is almost complete. When complete, the sections of Butler Branch where culvert work was performed will be resurfaced. These are located from the entrance to Butler Branch to Thissa Way. The bids from 2 companies are already in hand and the board expects to execute on one of them when we have the “all clear” from Webb Creek. We expect that shortly. The resurfacing will be done by a professional resurfacing company that will include milling of the asphalt and clean seams resulting in a smooth and unnoticeable patch to drivers. It will also include the asphalting of various potholes down Butler Branch Road. We wanted to provide this update that Butler Branch will soon be free of potholes and eroded gravel sections over the culverts. If there are any further delays, we will notify you. Please contact the office with any questions.
